Week 27: 7/1/12-7/7/12

Sunday, July 1st: Getting ready for our trip up north tomorrow :) Got the car washed (because I'm so scared of carwashes), got gas, essentials, packed up - whew, lots more can be done when baby's home with his daddy! Hudson is also getting his first raised white bump on his gums indicating a tooth in the near-ish future.
Monday, July 2nd: On the road to Maryland! We drove up today and had dinner at Inner Harbor.
Tuesday, July 3rd: Today was our day at the Air and Space Museum in DC!

Our first family picture just the three of us - lol! :)

Wednesday, July 4th: We had planned to go to DC for the celebration today, but with temps in the 100s, what's likely a million+ people, and an ornery baby, we decided to head homeish.  We went to Raleigh and headed to a picnic thrown by my sister's friend's family.

Thursday, July 5th: Nate headed home after the picnic last night, but Hud and I stayed in Raleigh to help Mimi with some schoolwork.
Hanging out with his BFF Toby
Friday, July 6th: Hudson was practicing his newest word "poop-poo" on the kitchen table.
Saturday, July 7th: New teething toy? Nutritious and delicious!  Today, Hud was standing against a box, took two steps (while holding on to it, kinda pushing it along), then sat down... mobility is just around the corner!

7 Month Update!

Wow has my little man grown!!
One Month: 7 pounds 14 ounces & 21 inches

Two Months: 10 pounds 12 ounces & 21.25 inches

Three Months: 12 pounds 4 ounces & 23.5 inches

Four Months: 14 pounds 2 ounces & 24 inches

Five Months: 15 pounds 8 ounces & 25 inches

Six Months: 16 pounds 8 ounces & 26.5 inches

Seven Months: 17 pounds 15 ounces & 27 inches
This month, Hudson's starting to go wild :)  He's wearing 6-9 and some 9 month clothes, size 3 diapers, size 3 shoes.  He sits up on his own now and is getting more stable as he's walking around, holding your hands, though he still has no interest in crawling or spending much time on his tummy... hopefully that'll change soon, but if he skips it entirely, I'd be okay with that too.  He still bee-bops a little when he's standing still, but doesn't look like a hula dancer any more.  We've continued to introduce all kinds of foods to him, and he'll eat pretty much anything - though mashed up veggies aren't high on the list, he'll eat chunks of them.  We travelled to MD/DC this month and he got to watch DVDs in the car on the way; he doesn't really watch the television at this point, but it'll distract him for a couple minutes at a time.

Week 26: 6/24/12-6/30/12

Sunday, June 24th: Some of the best sleep I've gotten in a while!  Hudson went to bed at 845, slept for 7.5 hours, ate, slept another hour, cuddled with me for another hour, ate, cuddled more, then slept until 730 this morning... feeling refreshed!  Then, I did some retail shopping and got adorable new sneakers for our upcoming DC trip... Ahhhh....
Monday, June 25th: Today was Mimi's first day of classes... or so we thought... I looked at the wrong calendar when I set everything up for her, and it turns out that she's already three days - an entire unit - behind, so we're scrambling to get her caught up so she can start off with the best foot forward.
Tuesday, June 26th: Lunch with the "Neighbors" today - so great to catch up!
Wednesday, June 27th: Editing Mommy's paper tonight and enjoying my first drink in 3+ years... sissy for sure, but tasty (though, honestly, I drank like 4 sips and fell asleep, so I don't think it technically counts)
Thursday, June 28th: BOGO Fraps at all Target Starbucks locations?  Don't mind if I do!  Definitely a great way to beat the heat and energize for super-cleaning!
Friday, June 29th: Country cooking at it's best (worst?) for dinner tonight since I've probably sweated out 20 pounds today... well, not really, but dang, was it good :)
Saturday, June 30th: My family came today to help me get the bedroom painted since the furniture will be coming after our mini vacation and I want everything to be in perfect order.  Daddy re-routed the cable from our bedroom so I can invert the living room, trimmed Bushzilla out of our A/C unit, and was reading to Hudson at naptime... I was really surprised he didn't crash with him.  Then, we got the bedroom wall and entire bathroom painted, lightbulbs evaluated, a course of action for house renovations laid out, Mimi's paper submitted, and it was **finally** time to call it a night! Whew!

Week 25: 6/17/12-6/23/12

Sunday, June 17th: Happy Father's Day! First day without the girls for their 7 week stint this summer, and I wish they were able to be here for their Daddy, but we'll have a great time without them, too.  Lunch/Dinner with my family at Maggiano's to celebrate.  I made bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits for a later dinner, too, but Hudson got ahold of mine...

Monday, June 18th: So I guess my sleep deprivation has gotten so severe that I don't even realize when I'm being woken up.  I was convinced that Hudson slept a full 8 hours last night, and was rocking out the happy dance... until Nate told me that he woke up, I got up and fed him, then he went back to bed, and I was thoroughly out the entire time... thanks for the buzz-kill babe!  Hudson barfed ALL OVER his high chair, and I couldn't get it apart to clean it (thanks, honey, for putting it together, but it's supposed to be collapsable!), so I stuck it in the bathtub full of hot, sudsy water to soak... creative cleaning!
Tuesday, June 19th: Several firsts today: riding in a shopping cart for more than a couple minutes, transferring from carseat to crib (even though I set off the car alarm in the process), splashing in the bathtub, and pulling up to standing including a 90 degree turn (I helped brace his outside leg since it was in the bathtub so he could get the other leg under him, but he understood the mechanics of it).

Wednesday, June 20th: Turns out that the library has cancelled the lap baby story time (I guess because there were only 5 babies when Meagan and I went last), so we crashed the toddler one today... and boy, was it crowded!  Then, when Daddy got home from work, we popped some popcorn and watched Star Wars :)

Thursday, June 21st: Getting a good start on my to-do list today, though I've noticed that it looks like I'm moving in the wrong direction... the living room is in complete shambles, but I'm banishing dust bunnies, steam cleaning everything, and painting the cabinet in the bathroom... this house is going to look SO different come the end of the summer.
Friday, June 22nd: Well, since I needed just a few more minutes of peace, I was cruising youtube for videos Hudson could watch this morning to keep his pacified, and stumbled across the Ice Age Christmas movie... in Russian.  Good thing Hud doesn't really understand what's going on anyways, because it kept him quiet and happy for half an hour!

Saturday, June 23rd: Hudson's first peer birthday party (sorry, Auntie Meg, your birthday doesn't really count since it was a ton of girls and he was only a week old) was today in Raleigh.  Ayden is two and Garret is three!  He didn't do much playing since jump houses are geared towards the bigger kiddos, but he did eat pizza for the first time... and boy, did he enjoy it :)
