Week 34: 8/19/12 - 8/25/12

Sunday, August 19th: Happy In & Out Day, Hudson!! You have officially been in my arms as long as you were in my belly :)
Monday, August 20th: Happy birthday Daddy!
Tuesday, August 21st: Hudson has tipped the scales at 19 pounds today!!
Wednesday, August 22nd: Hudson has been having a hard time sleeping again, and when I finally get him down, he always ends up in the strangest positions, like these adorable crossed legs.
Thursday, August 23rd: Happy Birthday Pop!  Today, I got a new phone since we updated our cell phone contract... only 6 hours spent at the T Mobile store... worth it?  I'll let you know if/when I learn to work all the nifty features.  Recently Hudson has learned to get from his butt to his belly and scoot along, which is so stinkin' cute... except when he decides that bath time is over so he pulls the plug.
Friday, August 24th: Look, mom, I can feed myself out of these little pouchie things!
Saturday, August 25th: Meagan and Ethan came over to hang out since she was brain-fried with school work.  We had a great afternoon, and Hudson was worn out so he took a fantastic nap!  He also set a new personal record for amount of food he could put away.  At 715pm, he nursed, then ate an adult serving of mac & cheese, half a handful of goldfish and nursed again before bed. Whew!

Week 33: 8/12/12 - 8/18/12

Sunday, August 12th: Hudson drank out of a sippy cup today! I REALLY hope this trend continues, since it'll be so much easier. We expanded out palate too with Mexican lasagna for dinner - this baby loves spicy food!
Monday, August 13th: And we're back to not sleeping... at all... ever... sorry for the lack of info today, just too hard to do with a brain that won't function.
Tuesday, August 14th: **sssshhhhh** today we had Hudson's 8-9 month pictures taken, during which he screamed the entire time, but we did get some really cute pictures, including this one - where you can FINALLY see those bottom teeth!
Wednesday, August 15th: Nate and Hudson had a jam session today. Hud seems really into the guitars, so hopefully it'll translate into some musical genius when he's a little bigger.

Thursday, August 16th: Hudson has learned that his arm will fit in the handle of his toy and diaper boxes, so he's constantly sticking it through there. Problem is that he then tries to shake it around, but it's heavy and full of stuff, so he mostly just bonks himself with it.
Friday, August 17th: Today, we went to the park with Meagan and Ethan, where they rode in the swings for a little while, then were taking turns scooting around on the blankie... until we told Hudson to "give lovin" to Ethan - which led to some pretty serious tackling on Hud's part as he tried to hug and kiss his buddy.
Saturday, August 18th: Today we drove to Wilmington for Jessica's (re)wedding.  The ceremony was beautiful, beachfront, and perfectly timed for our tardy behinds ;) We showed up just as the bridal party was about to walk down the boardwalk onto the beach, so we got some really cute pictures. Hud enjoyed the breeze and fresh air, then CRASHED as soon as we put him in the car to head to the reception. He tried hush puppies, barbecue, and dancing to music! Awesome accomplishment today: Hudson learned to belly-scoot!

Week 32: 8/5/12-8/11/12

Sunday, August 5th: Girls Come Home!
Monday, August 6th: Just hanging out at home today, trying to get caught up on the blog.
Tuesday, August 7th: Raleigh day! "Cawfee" date with Aunt Courtney today - Hudson loves Starbucks already ;-)
Wednesday, August 8th: Happy boy! Hudson's new thing today: the fake cough... I think he's convinced that it's actually a form of communication, lol.
Thursday, August 9th: So now that Hudson's fever is (mostly) gone, he's developed a really weird rash. When I took him to the doctor, they said he had a virus, which they've seen a lot of this summer, which presents with a few days of 102-103* fevers, and when that breaks, the kiddos break out in hives from head to toe... great :(
Friday, August 10th: What do you do when the baby won't stop crying and you have to head to Walmart (ick!)? Enlist a teenager to hold him -  you'd be surprised what an extra set of hands will allow you to do!
Saturday, August 11th: The girls and I trekked to Raleigh today to go with my family to Neighbors' house for swimming and a cookout. Hudson enjoyed floating around in the pool with the girls and Auntie, eating cheeseburgers and mac and cheese, and meeting new people.

Happy 2/3 Birthday! (8 Months)

Wow has my little man grown!!
One Month: 7 pounds 14 ounces & 21 inches

Two Months: 10 pounds 12 ounces & 21.25 inches

Three Months: 12 pounds 4 ounces & 23.5 inches

Four Months: 14 pounds 2 ounces & 24 inches

Five Months: 15 pounds 8 ounces & 25 inches

Six Months: 16 pounds 8 ounces & 26.5 inches

Seven Months: 17 pounds 15 ounces & 27 inches

Eight Months: 18 pounds 4 ounces & 27.5 inches
What a difference a month makes! Hudson has grown out of his 6-9 month clothes and almost all of his 9 month clothes, so we're scrambling to find 12 month outfits for this season, since the ones we stocked up on are mostly pants.  He's still in size 3 diapers,, though we're experimenting with different brands to create a good seal around those chunky thighs, but is now in size 4 shoes (crazy, I learned to walk around this age in a size 1). Hudson has mastered rolling from back to belly... finally... though he only likes to go over one shoulder still.  He can get onto his belly from sitting up, but can't yet get back onto his butt.  Just recently he's trying to stand on his own for a few seconds (up to like 20ish) at a time, has begun pulling up on furniture unassisted, and is starting to think about cruising between furniture pieces.  He loves Blue's Clues now and will watch for about 10 minutes at a time - hello unexpected solo shower!  His bottom two teeth have popped through, and the top two aren't too far behind, if this lasting fever is any indication.  Hudson is getting more and more demanding with the few words he knows, and has associated, or so it seems, "boob-boob and poop-poo with what they are and will sometimes say them when appropriate.  Also, he knows it's time to get out of the bathtub when you say "bye-bye water" and knows where Daddy works and Mimi and Pop live.

Week 31: 7/29/12-8/4/12

Sunday, July 29th: Hudon's finally starting to feel a little better, though he's still super clingy.  I can't wait to get him back to sleeping alone... in his crib... for more than 15 minutes at a time... or just any of the above, really.
Monday, July 30th: I started going through all of Hudon's clothes today, desperately searching for stuff that will fit him, since it seems he's gone through another growth spurt, and came across a TON of stuff from Jessica that's Georgia Bulldogs - perfect for our trip down south in September (let's hope he doesn't outgrow it all before then). Today, Hudson has started trying to do pushups and has mastered scooting backwards... c'mon baby, that's not crawling... you're going the wrong way!
Tuesday, July 31st: Hudson stood up 100% by himself, not holding onto ANYTHING for over 10 seconds today! He's getting so big :(

Wednesday, August 1st: There we go, a picture of him standing by himself! Yesterday, he decided he was going to have performance anxiety and wouldn't let us get it documented. He likes to have something in his hands while he's standing so he doesn't think about it - otherwise he just sits back down.
Thursday, August 2nd: What to do with a baby while you have to potty, get dressed, and put in contacts? Put him in the sink! He can't get out of it, plus there's the added bonus of having a shiny faucet to chew on, lol.  Auntie had an MRI today of her "hemangeoma" and it turns out that she actually has a vascular malformation instead, which means a whole different treatment plan. So while the experience was a little "eh", Hudson enjoyed riding the stuffed animals while we waited FOREVER for her to be seen.

Friday, August 3rd: Big boy jammies! We're having a hard time finding zipper jammies with feet in 12 month size, but we did find these at the consignment store, and they have rubber grips on the bottom to keep him safe once he gets super mobile!
Saturday, August 4th: Happy 8 month birthday, little stinker! We have been taking his picture with his elephant to show size comparison and tried to take it with him standing too, which didn't quite produce the results we were looking for, but you get the idea :)
