Today is: November 8, 2012 **no picture this week, sorry!**
How far along: 14
weeks
Total weight gain: About 3 pounds
Baby is the size of: A lemon...about 3.5" and 1.5
oz.
What's going on with the babe: Baby can now squint, frown,
pee, and possibly suck his/her thumb. Fun. ;) Baby's liver starts making bile
this week, and his/her spleen has begun helping in the production of red blood
cells.
What's going on with the mama: This 2nd trimester isn't
feeling so 2nd trimester-y so far. :\
Baby is a: Boy or a girl. We
have an ultrasound on the 21st (which puts us one day before 16 weeks). I plan to ask them if we can take a peek and see if we can see anything since we saw "outdoor plumbing" with Hudson around 14 weeks, but I'm not sure if they'll agree since it's supposed to be a growth ultrasound. We don't have a gender ultrasound scheduled yet, but they normally do them around 20 weeks, which would put us around Christmas. I'm hoping to reveal gender with our Christmas cards (I have some really great ideas!) so I hope we can see something before then!
Maternity
clothing: Still no. I'm actually showing a little less this week than previously, so most of my normal clothes fit without being uncomfortable still.
Sleep: Sleep is the same. No complaints. Hudson is starting to sleep a little better, so I'm pretty content. The time change has been a little tough, but we're managing.
Movement: Still feeling little
flutters.
Cravings/Aversions: Nothing really? Bagels mostly. Aversions... Hudson's diaper changes are making me a little queasy, whether dirty or just wet, but no sickness.
Symptoms: exhaustion, back pain, headaches
How this pregnancy is different than before: Not really all that different from Hudson's. Feeling pretty good for the most part.
How the big brother was this week: Oh man, this little guy is all over the place! I can't believe that next month we'll be throwing him his first birthday party!
The best moment(s)
of this past week: Hoping to get to know the gender this month, and doing a little window shopping for little Squiggles. We're starting to narrow down the names list too, so hopefully we'll land on something by the time we figure out what kind of "plumbing" little one has!
I'm looking forward to: Another ultrasound!
