Monday, May 21st: What in the world is going on with his hair today? No matter how many times I wet it and lay it down flat, it keeps doing this fly-away/baby chicken thing. I got to be a grown up today too and bought a new stove. Our old one had the burners on top, but only one of them worked consistently. One of the others was broken and sunk into the surface, the other two had bad connections and would only work when they wanted to, and no matter how much I scrub it, it never came all the way clean (it came with the house when it was built in the 90s, so it's a little dated). I can't wait for it to get here!
Tuesday, May 22nd: Coffee date with Ms. Joy and I bought Hudson a new big boy carseat. It's super awesome: 3 way positioning, converts from rear to forward facing, and is safe for 5-100 pounds. I've had my eye on it for about a month now and it's on sale for $89.99 at BJs!
Wednesday, May 23rd: Ended up spending the night in Raleigh since it was so late after trying to get that stupid carseat installed in my car. The buckets are too deep, so there's no way to get it to recline enough to be safe for rear-facing. Then we tried putting it in my parents' van since their seats are mostly flat, but it wouldn't buckle tightly enough to feel safe. Maybe we're doing it wrong? Super down since I was so excited about it.
Thursday, May 24th: Such a busy day today; have 136546165164315476428977869744
Friday, May 25th: Yay Beach!! Got all packed up and headed to the beach tonight. As soon as we got there, Hudson had a meltdown and didn't want to eat dinner, Blake had a tantrum about wanting to sleep in the living room since he'd be the last one up at night and the first one up in the morning, then he and Pop immediately fell asleep (at like 830pm mind you). But the view of the sunset over the golf course our condo was on was phenomenal!
Saturday, May 26th: Onwards to the beach!! Hudson decided that he didn't like the water (too cold) or the waves (too scary) or the sand (too sticky), but loves napping in the breeze. We all (the big people, not Hudson) wore SPF 30 since it was mostly the first time in the sun (and because I'm soooo pasty), and Mimi got crispy-fried and I got no color at all... strange!!
